Brewers vs. Cardinals in St. Louis with Foley |
I understand that I came late to the game. Dave, Mark and Dan have been a power trio much longer than I have know any of them, so I felt ok with the fact that I was left out of this picture. Which is why I was on the opposite side of the camera for just one picture. |
When I got home it was late on a Sunday. I had to go to work early the next morning. But of course none of that mattered because I just saw my Brewers sweep the Cardinals in St. Louis at their own stadium. If that isn't the Revolution, I don't know what is. |
The announced attendance was 43,464. There was no way in hell that many people were here today. That's because it is the paid attendance. I could never pay for a game then not come, but I guess most fans were waiting until the post season to show up. |
After the game Beth and Melissa asked me to take their picture. So I did... with my camera. I don't think that is what they wanted but I did it anyway. They didn't understand why I did it but hell, neither did I. Then I took a picture with theirs and all was back to normal. |
By the time that the teams were heading into the locker rooms to pack up and head home (Brewers) or get ready for the playoffs (Cardinals) most of the fans had left. We were (obviously) still there and Foley was taking pictures. And I took pictures of him. |
Uncle Greg taught me to Start the Revolution. On that day I decided that it was my duty to pass it on to all willing members. While we were on the field I had Dave and Dan join me in a grand declaration of Revolution with Busch Stadium in the background. |
By the time that we made it to the field level from our seats the ballpark had almost entirely cleared out. That's how far up we were. I only now realize that the 4th deck is pretty G D far from the action on the field. Perhaps next time I'll sit a bit closer. |
I suppose I am spoiled by Miller Park. I don't "go to" as many games as I would like to, but since I work on the Club Level I end up working nearly 65 of the 81 home games per year. The Club Level seats at Miller Park offer the perfect view of the game despite being in the 3rd deck. You would think that 3 would be far away from the field but it gives you the elevated perspective while still allowing you to be close enough to all of the action. In my opinion the Loge Level is too close and the Terrace Level is too far away. That makes the Club Level at Miller Park just right for me. The Outfield Terrace Reserved at Busch Stadium can't come close to comparing to the Miller Park Club Level. |
We were walking back towards the car when we passed by a food stand. They don't allow tailgaiting, so some guy sets up a tent with a grill and cooks up some food. He must have had some extras because he offered us some chicken. I took it. And ate it. And loved it. |
It's a little over 6 hours from St. Louis to Milwaukee so naturally you are going to have to stop along the way to use the restroom. Most people aren't built to hold it in for that long. Which also means that most people aren't cut out for life on the road... |
Since I had already taken a picture of Foley by his lonesome I decided to jump into the frame and get a picture of the two of us. We were two of the few hanging around after the game, and we were also part of the minority that was celebrating a Brewers win. |
