World Series of Beer Pong - Drive to Milwaukee, WI
When day broke, we found ourselves playing Mario Party and Mario Kart to pass the time. Since both are fabulous multiplayer games, all of us in the backseat (including those spending time in Brodey's Lounge) could play along on the 13-inch television.
Salmon gave his approval of all things Mario and allowed them to be used within the Nintendo Universe. Unfortunately, no one cares what Salmon thinks about anything so Nintendo keeps churning out a new Mario game every month with or without Salmon's approval.
I must have been driving again because Aaron is sitting in the passenger seat and the picture is taken from the perspective of the one in the driver's seat. Since it was night, I should have been paying attention to the road instead of snapping random pictures, but we made it home without dying. In retrospect, I validate my behavior because I now know that we were able to live through it.
Balkman absolutely loved Mario Party, and even made up a song to describe his gaming experience. Balkman loves Pat McCurdy, and used the tune from Nude Party (which goes like this - I'm nude, you're nude. We're gonna have a nude party) and added his own line to the end. After 'We're gonna have a nude party', he added 'We're gonna have a Mario Party' and it became an instant classic.
I pretended to sleep in the car while I took my own picture because I wanted to show the viewers at home what I was doing during the majority of the ride home. Since we no longer had anything to look forward to (aside from the comfort of our pajamas and beds), the ride home was long and uneventful. When I got home, I immediately passed out so that I would have enough energy to collect my thoughts and process this entire trip. This really was a one in a lifetime opportunity, nothing I could ever do will ever come close to being as cool as this was.
It has taken me 10 months to finish this section (what else is new) and it is 3 short months until the next World Series of Beer Pong. Fresno has yet to commit to the WSoBP II, so I am eagerly anticipating this year's event but have no one to accompany me in my quest for $20,000. Hopefully everything works out for the best and I'll have another adventure to share with you when I return from Mesquite, Nevada in January of 2007. Keep a close eye on pookon.com and Pookon's Ill Blog for updated news about the upcoming tournament. Hopefully these pictures and stories have inspired those 21 and over to accompany the Milwaukee Team out to Nevada to help us once again represent our fair city. If you can't go, root for us from where you stand and we'll promise to kick some ass in beer pong. Let's all go out and get drunk!!!!
