2 Wintersplash - 1.0 (page 2)
The dog looks away, staring into the wintry void of our backyard. I don't know if she's looking for kids or rabbits, but there is only one way to find out. Go ahead and ask her. I would, but I don't speak dog.
Instead of riding on the banners, Tim devised a plan to slide along the fresh powdered snow that was falling. You can see the flash reflecting in the snow. Turns out that you slide better on the fresh snow.
Our constant sliding created a channel on the Wintersplash, with a well formed groove that was visible even from space. If that were true, my backyard and the Great Wall of China would finally have something in common.
Tim chose to ride on the fresh snow instead of my banners and I let him, because after all this Wintersplash thing was his baby too. He's allowed to do whatever it is that he wants, but me, I'm sticking to the Wintersplash.
I decided that I needed to give Tim's new method try, and slid along the powdered snow. Turns out that the little fella was right. Looks like I have to start listening to Tim more often now. That guy has a plan.
This is one of those classic pictures that seems to resurface every time that we do a version of the 'Splash. This just allows me to demonstrate what I do best in the Wintersplash - lie down on the ground.
Lassie saw us speedbumping, and decided that it looked so fun that she would like to try it out. I then promptly reminded her that she is a dog, and dog's don't do speedbumps. She whined, complained a minute, started to chew on my ankle; but I had no choice but to tell her no. After all, she could get hurt doing this, and that Veterinarian guy costs a pretty penny, believe you me. So she was banned from all speedbump activities.
Season changes, times of day, weather, neap tides, the stock market; none of these can affect the one thing that always has and always will happen when Timmy speedbumps - he will hit me and fly off. There is no stopping inevitability, and there is nothing he can do to plan for the future other than to expect a painful finish to his ride. I tried to warn him that I will always knock him off of the tube, but that has never stopped him from trying.
