Walt Disney World 2017 - October 18 Day 1: Epcot

All of the Countries in EPCOT are around this giant lagoon, which makes for a very picturesque setting for a lovely afternoon. It has been a few years since this trip, so I feel like I didn't truly appreciate the design and ingenuity that went into creating and maintaining this place. I guess that means I need to go back again someday. It took a lot of money and planning to make this happen. Not sure if I have it in me to do it again...

I don't remember too much about each individual pavilion because we didn't eat any of the food nor did I tweet about them (which is the only way I can remember things because apparently my brain doesn't retain information from my past). But I do know that these pictures of Japan turned out pretty good and I look back in them with fond memories, even though I can't remember a damn thing about that day.

But do you really need to remember all of the individual details? Good on people that have a photographic memory, but I rely on the photographs to be my memory. So I can't tell you anything aside from what you see right here.

Wherever you are in the EPCOT World, you can see the Spaceship Earth globe. I'm sure that is by design because nothing in these parks is left up to chance. I guess that makes it a good reference point then because that was right at the entrance to the park and gives you a sense of location. So right now we were a little more than halfway around the World, which was a good enough reason to stop for dinner and drinks at the Biergarten Restaurant in Germany. Hooray beer!

The Biergarten Restaurant was oddly familiar, having spent my entire life living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Any of you that actually take the time to look at this know exactly what I am talking about, as Milwaukee has a fair amount of German influence due to the people that settled this area. Plus the food was familiar too, as I got a giant plate of sausages. This seemed like a good idea at the time, but it ended up giving me the meat sweats. But I washed it down with a beer, which is what your supposed to do, right? Because there is water in beer. Sure.

There was a band playing traditional polka music and also a dance floor where you could burn off the calories gained from the plate of sausages. Aside from creating the authentic ambiance, that has to be the reason that they are there. Trust me. I know things.

The Biergarten was nice. The decor was splendid. The band was enjoyable. The beer was delicious. The sausages were savory. But none of those (even all of them combined) were as amazing as spending time with my family. My apologies to the things I mentioned, especially the sausages. I am a little upset that I hurt their feelings, but I know the sausages will get over it. I can't say the same about the decor though.
