Trip 2005 - Sacramento

We took Jenny to Sacramento so that she could board a plane and head back home. She needed to be home because she was attending a 4-day Jam Band music festival in Southern Illinois called Summer Camp. It was sad leaving her at the airport because now we had an odd number of people and now Jenny and I wouldn't be able to hang out and goof around. Dropping people off at the airport has always been a hard thing for me to do, but I knew that I would be seeing Jenny as soon as we got back home. Then we could have fun and goof around as much as we wanted to.

I'm not sure if I mentioned previously that we noticed something wrong with the brakes on the car, but we dropped it off at a local Midas to see what was wrong with the car. We then decided to walk into downtown to catch Star Wars Episode III at the local mall movie theater. Along the way we saw some neat buildings, including the Capital building, and I waved hello to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He was busy shouting clever one-liners while saving the world from terrorists and predators, so we let him be.

Star Wars Episode III had opened 5 days earlier, on May 19th. Since we were busy with Craig's Wedding and all of the things you have already seen and read about, we haven't had a chance to see it yet. I avoided all contact with the internet society in order to ward off any spoilers that I might come into contact with. I also took the time to rest my body and my mind before allowing it to get blown away by George Lucas' final installment of the Star Wars prequel Trilogy. The best way to do so was on a Love Sac, something that the hippies finally got right. It's just like a big bean bag, except more comfortable. It combines the comfort of a bed with the sitability of a coach for the best of both worlds.

Nothing that I could possibly say would be any better than what the city of Sacramento has chosen for the name of their downtown website.

When we picked up the car from Midas, we were shocked when we saw the price on the bill. What shocked us even more was when he told us that we only had 2 working brakes before he fixed the other 2. He was surprised that we drove around through San Francisco and were able to stop at the bottom of the hills. Apparently the brakes were bad enough that we shouldn't still be alive. I then thanked God for allowing me to continue my Earth Adventure, then we got into the car and continued this current adventure.

My life was forever changed after I witnessed the brutal ending to the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. Thank Lucas for the Original Trilogy because if the series ended on such a depressing note like this, Star Wars geeks like myself probably would wallow around in depression for the rest of their years. I was now ready to go home after witnessing this monumental event. Forward HO!!!
