Trip 2005 - Craig's Wedding |
I gave Tim a couple of dollars so that he could dance with Gladys. I wanted him to dance with our best friend's wife, but mostly I just wanted to take a picture of him. |
It's customary for the groom to remove the garter from his wife before tossing it into the crowd of available bachelors. Craig took great pride in doing so for tradition's sake. |
I couldn't resist slipping Dora Jo Reyes (the Matron of Honor) a few bucks to get a dance with Craig. She thought that I was crazy and told me that Gladys' line was on the other side of the dance floor. I knew that Craig would get a kick out of the fact that I wanted to dance with him, plus I figured that it was the only time that I would be able to get some alone time with him during this busy weekend. My dance was cut short because everyone thought it was weird, but I supplemented that with an extended dance with his lovely wife Gladys. |
There's the part during the reception (the money dance) where you pay the best man/maid of honor a few dollars for a dance with the bride/groom. It was a good investment to dance with Gladys Pearman. |
Jenny was digging the wine, although it's hard to imagine someone liking wine that doesn't come in box form. There's no pleasure, no rapture, no exquisite sin greater... than box wine. |
Since there usually is an open bar at weddings, Jenny and I took full advantage of the bar's generosity. At first I got Jenny drinks from the bar (she's 20 years old, but hey - she's in college so I have no problem with it at all) then she got them herself. They didn't card us, and although they gave us suspicious looks, I guess they figured out that it was alright to have fun at a party. We then brought our wine outside for a stroll on the veranda. (Technically this wasn't a veranda, but I just wanted to sound classy and intelligent while sipping my wine.) |
