Before the show, Tim was snooping around near the backstage area at about 8:00, right before the Booze Brothers were set to go on. He quickly ran and pulled me out of my seat and rushed me back to this fence. Excitedly, he pointed out that Styx's keyboard player Lawrence Gowan. We felt kind of weird spying on him through the metal fence, so I went back to my seat. About 15 minutes later, Tim comes barreling towards me and almost knocks me over with excitement. His trembling hands thrust the camera into my hands and I turn it on to reveal the picture to the right. Until he reminds me, I have no idea how he was able to get a fantastic picture like this one. That Tim will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

Tim made this Styx sign with the hope that he could get the entire band to autograph it. He accomplished step one with Lawrence's addition to the paper. Now if only steps 2,3,4 and 5 could be just as easy...

Tim and I were both really excited to be at the show, but we both chose different ways to express our feelings. I was all smiles, but Tim said that he was nervous. Why? I can't tell you, but if you find out you will unwrap the mystery present that is known as Tim Reck.

This is Styx's stage set up. The wall of amps in the back ground is one of their trademarks. Todd's drum kit is right in the middle, and there is a platform right behind it. Like you needed my explanation to know that...

The infamous Tommy Shaw - lead singer/guitarist and Timmy's idol. Tommy is the hart of the band, and time has shown that Styx could not be amazing without him (they didn't start kicking ass again until he rejoined the band in 1995, and then solidified the band's prominence by touring with them from 1999 to the present. He has made Styx fantastic.)

Lawrence Gowan, keyboard player. Joined the band in 1999 replacing Dennis DeYoung. I don't want to knock down Dennis, for he wrote some amazing songs, but Lawrence is just a better fit for the band. His stage presence and his antics make the show that much more enjoyable. I'll be talking about him more later on.

James "JY" Young joined the band in 1970 and has been with them through the good times and the bad. He has recorded a few solo albums, but most of his work has been with Styx. He certainly picked a good group of guys to hang out with for 30 years.
