The Deep South (Carolina) - Day 2 |
James dominated the table. I wish that I could say that I didn't see it coming, but I essentially trained him in this fine sport. I don't think he knew about beer pong before I started playing (because I didn't know about it until after I was 21) so I'll take credit for showing him (intentionally or non) how to be a beer pong champion. |
You've seen pictures like this a thousand times if you are on Facebook. People always take pictures at bars, and they are all the same. Which is why I decided to put a twist on it by taking a picture of people taking a picture of themselves. What a Twist! |
I totally went against my better judgment and changed my shot a few months before the WSoBP. I opted for a shot with a higher arc, since lately I had been shorting the majority of my shots. I ignored the fact that I had been playing beer pong for like 7 years (and over 4 years on this style of table). My shot wasn't the problem; it was my attitude, approach and confidence that needed fixing. |
This is one of the other bar randoms I played with. He was no Shorty, but at lease he was better than the first random (Joseph) I played with. This guy could at least make a cup and help the team achieve victory. After losing the first game to James + Melissa, I'm pretty sure that I ran the table for the rest of the night. |
We decided to take a nice picture, but at the last second I threw up the rock sign so that people could tell I was at a bar and that I was drinking. Only later I noticed it wasn't necessary because there were neon beer signs behind me and my face told the real truth. |
When we got back home, it was after 2:00 am. James and Melissa went to bed, but I hung out with Scott Baya for a little bit before retiring to my room to record Episode # 4 of the Pookcast. James didn't want to record a Sports Edition with me, and since I was in the mood to record an episode, I decided to do one about beer pong, for that was the most recent (and future) event on my mind. |
