I brought my guitar with me on this roadtrip but hadn't played it yet. If there was ever a time and a place to right those wrongs, then this would be it. I sat on the bench out at Memory Point and jammed my little heart out. There was a moment during a song that I was playing where the winds picked up and the chimes rattled and I got so emotional that I broke down and had a really good cry. Like a really really good one that lets out everything that you keep bottled up inside. It was only then that I felt at peace. This place has a way of doing that.

Afterglow RFT VI: Styx - Afterglow

 

I was past the point where the Fall colors are at their peak. I have been up here at that time of the year and it truly is a glorious spectacle. And while it would have been nice to be up here at that perfect time, none of that mattered right now because I was here. This is where I needed to be. Things happen in life that you cannot control or even begin to understand. So why try? You have to just deal with it.

Last night was a total mistake. I knew that I was going to have to stay overnight somewhere around here and I chose poorly. I could have stayed at a hotel in Eagle River. The only reason I stayed in Watersmeet was so that I could go to the casino. And look how that turned out. But that's all water under the bridge as I pulled up to the entrance of the most beautiful and amazing place in the World. As this was titled a RFT Afterglow adventure, I bet you were wondering when I would get there. Well you won't have to wait any longer.
