Afterglow RFT VII: A Little Slice of Heaven - Day 3

Cabin #1 has like 19 rooms or something and I tried out a few of them. I'm not sure which one I slept in, but I do know that I went in Kevin's room (the one with bunk beds) and took a picture of me sleeping in his bed. I sent it to him and I think he kind of liked it. Weirdo. Even though it feels like I just got here, today was the day that I had to go back home. But not before I ate the Haribo gummi bears that I slept with in my pocket. They were warm, which made them even more delicious. And yes, I know how gross that sounds. On normal departure days, you are supposed to check out by 930am. This wasn't a normal day and we aren't normal people, so we got the VIP Diamond Club Late Check-out.
The ride back home was as good as it could be for a Saturday night in early September. I had the top down and I watched the daylight slip away as night slowly crept in. Afterglow RFT VII was called A Little Slice of Heaven because that was exactly what it was. I didn't spend a lot of time up here for this adventure, but the little time I did was perfect. At the end of the day, isn't that all we want? Those perfect moments?

Before heading home and back to reality, I had to go swimming again. After all, it would be a long and cold Winter before I would be here again. And by swimming I mean hanging out on top of the HD for an extended period of time with a Pirate flag and then jumping off while yelling Pirate stuff. You know, that kind of swimming. You may have your definition of the word, but I have mine. And I intend to stick by it, true as the North Star that I use for navigation on those moonless nights when I have to steer my Pirate Ship into the nearest trading port.

I sure am going to miss this place. Even though my time here varies from a day or two all the way to a whole week, it is always difficult to leave. Since the view cannot be replicated, I made sure to soak it all in before I jumped off the HD and swam back into shore.

One final stop at Memory Point is mandatory before heading back home, especially during these Rage for Timmy adventures. I don't have much else to say about it because I feel like I've exhausted all emotions and words to describe my feelings by this point. So just sit back and enjoy the pretty pictures. There really is no better place on Earth and if I can't take you with me, this is hopefully the next best thing.

I said goodbye to my Dad, Kathy and the dogs Percy, Buffy and Trixie before taking off. Since they had been up here for a week already, they were also heading back home today. Since we had a late check out, we didn't leave at the same time. That's the beauty of being here in the offseason - you get to leave when you are ready to leave (within reason of course). So when the time came to make my move, I was on the road back to the reality of my normal life. That's the way it goes with Afterglow. No matter when you go, you eventually have to leave.
