Afterglow - Rage for Timmy II: The Secret of the Ooze

We went back to the cabin to ponder our next move. The dogs absolutely love Dad and Kathy and sit on them at every given moment. Now I'm all about loving your pets and everything but sometimes it can get to be a little too much. They're just pets.

There is always an exception to the rule and Scrappy chose to lay on some pillow instead of sitting on someone's knee. Maybe it's because there weren't any more knees left for her to sit on. Or maybe the feisty little one was all tuckered out. Let her be man.

The whole reason for coming up here (aside from getting out of town for a weekend) is to visit Timmy, hence the Rage for Timmy title to this trip. Only one of the dogs (Lou) made the walk with us to Memory Point but that was alright because I think she was Timmy's favorite. After all, he was the one who gave her that name. So it was only fitting that she was here with us to pay honor to him at his resting place.

I'm glad that we have a marker here at his gravesite. Not that I wouldn't know where it is or anything, but it's nice to have something there to let everyone else know how important this hallowed ground is. There are plenty of other artifacts in the woods surround here and hanging from the trees so I know a lot of other people come here to reflect on the past and the loved ones that they have lost. At least we're not alone.

We ate at the buffet, which for some reason cost like $18 (it wasn't that good) and gambled away enough money to make it worth their while. I don't know if anyone won money but Kevin and I counted our losses and headed home, where he was properly met and assaulted by Scrappy. He got a face biting that he probably deserved.

I take these two pictures every time I head out to Memory Point - one of the view of the lake and one of the site. Although this might start to get a little repetitive for some people it helps me to see the changes that go on from season to season and from year to year. It's hard to believe (as of August 10 when I'm writing this) that it's been a little over a year since we buried him there. I've been there 3 separate times since then and I will take every opportunity that comes my way to hang out with Timmy. Even though he's with me every day, I feel closer to him up here.

We were out there for a very long time. Once you get there it is so hard to leave Memory Point but eventually you just have to. So we went back to the cabin then took off for the Casino for dinner and some entertainment. P and Lou watched us leave from the window while Pinnacle kept guard outside. Those are some crazy beasts.
