Afterglow - Rage for Timmy

Now that we got all of the other stuff out of our systems we could do what we came up here to do - Rage for Timmy. Jenny made this Timmy stone that we wanted to place at Memory Point so we started the walk towards that hollowed ground. Like I've been saying over the last few pages everything looked so different now, especially since the picture I have on my computer desktop is the same as the picture on the right only that one was taken during the summer. It's crazy how different they look because right now I'm able to look at them side by side.

We didn't have any tools along but Eddie made use of this fireplace shovel from the cabin. That guy is such an innovator and could give McGyver a run for his money. Even though it wasn't ideal it did get the job done and at the end of the day that's all you ever ask.

Most of us brought some kind of artifact to lay here while we hung out and really raged with Timmy. The picture (Kevin), the candle and stone (Mom), the cloth and watch (Jenny) and the bandana (me) added to the significance of this place. We wanted a more permanent marker on this spot which is where the idea for the stone thing came into play. I just hope that it too is undisturbed by nature and lasts as long as our love for Timmy.

The site was just like we left it in July which means that for the most part it has been undisturbed. That's all you can really ask for when you put something out in nature. I think that we respected nature and I'm glad that the respect was mutual. How it should be.

Ever heard of comic relief? Unless a movie is just mega depressing there's always a character that lightens the mood via a joke, a situational quip or a physical pratfall so that you don't spend the whole two hours crying and hating yourself. That's because people need to laugh. It's human nature. So after feeling sad and crying for a bit Brian and Jenny started goofing around and we sat back and watched them go at it.

Memory point isn't a very fun place to be and what we have had to do here over the last year hasn't been enjoying, but it is something that must be done. And also out of all places in the world (aside from alive and with us) we are glad that Timmy is here. So the general mood was one of sadness but we were here to Rage for Timmy. So we knew that soon enough the tears would dry and we could enjoy this short but meaningful trip.

There was a whole lot of silence because none of us really knew what to say. No matter what we could never make things right or take away the pain. So sometimes silence is just the best thing. I have no idea how long we sat or stood there in silence because time seemed to stand still at that moment. But I for sure can tell you that all of us needed to be here this weekend. No matter how difficult it is we need to keep coming back.
