This brewery was very bike friendly. It contained bike artifacts in the displays and plenty of spaces to lock it up outside. I can get behind that. There was a lot to love about this place. So far there was a lot to love about Portland. I may have been here for just a short time so far, but I could already tell that I would love more about this place than just the beer and the weather. I hated to cheat on my girl Milwaukee if only for a few days, but last night was the start of a momentary infatuation that got my heart, body and mind in a whirlwind of emotions. There's only one word to describe what I was feeling. It was the "L" word. No, not Lesbian. The other "L" word. The one you only say when you mean it.

I woke up earlier than everyone else this morning (around 730am) so I decided to sit outside and enjoy the weather. It wasn't too great, but you'd be amazed how good mid-50s feels when it is 2 degrees back home. I walked around barefoot and checked out Kelly's house. It was nice. In a real charming kind of way. So was her neighborhood. I would find out later that a lot of the neighborhoods were like this. So I sat and did nothing. Just enjoyed being outdoors and breathing uncompromised air. And it was lovely.

And then I watched Wayne Brady doing "Let's Make a Deal" and Drew Carey doing "The Price is Right". Back home I'm usually at work when these shows are on, so it was lovely to sit back and have a lazy morning. When Kelly and Jenny finally woke up, they joined me in some morning game show TV. After we got our fill, we decided to make some breakfast. There's nothing better than having time in the morning to make some breakfast, sit back and enjoy it and drink a cup of coffee. We are so rushed every time. There's never enough time. Today there was plenty of time to make some fantastic breakfast creations that Kelly dreamed up. I don't even know what it is.

This thing had eggs, cheese, hashbrown potatoes and bacon in it. And it looks just like a muffin. Best. Breakfast. Ever. I guess everything tastes better on vacation. I was drinking whiskey all morning and Jenny Reck was drinking some local beer. Everything was great. Including the flowers outside of Kelly's house.

When we finally decided to get it together and head out on the town, we met up with Sarah Butler at Hopworks Urban Brewery. This place prides itself on being organic and eco-friendly, which was a huge bonus in addition to the very tasty beer products. I wanted to try them all and Jenny and I nearly succeeded with the sample platter as we played a game of spin the wheel. They had about 20 beers on tap and the sampler had nearly all of them. So we picked a number and I drank half and Jenny drank the other half. It was a good way to try every single beer without having to spend a lot of money. But the best part about it was just trying something new.
