Pic o the Day 70

Kevin and I have a lot of similar thoughts and interests, which is probably why we get along so well. We also have aspirations to visit every state in the USA. So far I am in the mid-thirties and Kevin is in the mid-twenties. Not our age silly. How many states that we have been to. But can it be both? You're damn right it can be. But that's not the point. I have been to Iowa before but Kevin had not, so we planned a day trip to Iowa on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. We walked along the banks of The Mighty Miss, went to 2 different casinos (we both left Iowa with extra money in our pockets!), went to a wine tasting and broke Kevin's 1 week of sobriety while celebrating 5 beautiful years together, tried some local Iowaniese Cuisine, laid out in the park under a gazebo, came up with a radio station with the call letters WQIA and became smitten with this little slice of paradise. Most people didn't understand why we did this, but then again, do we expect them to? Hell I can only speak for myself, but I don't understand why I do what I do half of the time. But I do know that on the perfect day in Dubuque, Iowa time seemed to stop still for a bit as we felt like we had been here our entire lives. You know what they say about Iowa, right? When you're in Iowa, you're home. And when you're home, you're home. It's written in all of the pamphlets so it has to be true.
