At every WSoBP (with the exception of Year III) we took a "family picture" with the entire gang of Milwaukee kids that made it out for the competition. Year V would be the smallest group that ever represented the CHBPL and our homeland. With a combined record of 9-15 we certainly lost a lot of the luster that had surrounded our teams in the past. Which is why we took our picture in front of the WSoBP I banner. The 1st WsoBP was our heyday and also when 4 out of our 5 teams made it to Day 3. Lorge and Casey finished 5th overall and Fresno Chris and I finished 9th. Although Joey Kanz wasn't there the 1st year, he still felt like he was there through all of stories and the fact that we couldn't let it go. From the WSoBP I + II and the Last Cup documentary, I have had my 15 minutes of fame. Those days are long gone, but the memories (although clouded) will certainly last a lifetime. At least I can say that at one time I was somebody and people cared about the Iceman. And those are things they can never take away from me. |
