On the night of August 28th, Paul and I headed down to Water Street (the bar Trinity) to see the Micah Olsan Group (Timmy's band) play a show. It was right at the beginning of Harley Davidson's 105th Anniversary weekend. I got home from work early, and Paul offered to drive me over to Water Street. There were so many Harley Motorcycles downtown that we could not find a parking spot, so we ended up parking on Wells and Wan Buren (by Cathedral Square where they hold Jazz in the Park) so we had to walk like 10 blocks to Trinity. I had made a mixer of Jamison and Coke, and it turned out to be pretty darn strong. I was already drunk while we were walking to the bar. In a drunken stupor, I recalled that they had just erected (he he) a bronze statue of Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzerelli (Henry Winkler's character on Happy Days) along the Milwaukee River. I wanted nothing more than to take a picture with him with my thumbs up in an "ehhhh" pose. On the way there, we couldn't find it, so we continued towards the bar. For the entire show, I was consumed with finding the location of this statue, so I convinced Paul to make it our mission to find it on the walk back to the car after the show. It turns out that the statue is located on the East Side of the river across from the Rock Bottom Brewery off of Water Street and Wells Street. When I finally found it, I felt like shouting out Eureka! or one of those other catchy phrases treasure hunters yell out when they finally stumble upon their treasure. Although it was a bit dark, I still took these photos on my phone. So even though they didn't turn out so well, I had to take them and post them on this site because they represented a monumental achievement in my quest on that day. It was definitely one of the high points of my year, and I thank you for allowing me to share them with you. So this is me and Paul with the King of Cool. Believe it.
