Packers vs. Saints Game (October 9, 2005)
#4 needs no introduction, not here or anywhere else on the planet. He was responsible for the overwhelming number of points that appeared on the scoreboard. Sure, the other guys helped, but you gotta give credit where credit is due.
Naturally, all the players, staff, sideline personnel, reporters, cameramen, etc. rushed the field when the final seconds ticked off the clock. Everyone wanted to ask Mr. Favre about his team's impressive performance.
The Packers were now 1-4, not great, but hey it was a step in the right direction. The last 3 games were decided by a mere 3 points each game; and although the Packers lost, it proved that we can go toe-to-toe with any team in the NFL.
We told Dad to sit with us for the last quarter because a lot of people had left (especially because we were surrounded by Saints fans.) We actually got out at a reasonable time, which is a common occurrence when your team is losing.
I ended up talking with some really nice people, and it turned out that I knew them in a way. Our discussion comprised of the common "what school do you go to, where do you work, where do you live, etc." and whenever they answered about their 2 daughters, I was able to say me too. Turns out that they were the parents of my friends Katie and Jamie, both of whom I work with at the UWM Union. They have season tickets and often bring their children, but not this time. It's funny that you could find someone you know out of a crowd of 72,601, but then again I guess it is not because you have a lot of chances to run into someone. I don't care what you neighsayers neigh say, I think it was cool.
It was now time to walk towards the car and eventually drive home. We had come dressed for the cold, but our seats were directly in the sunlight, adding to the exhaustion we were already feeling from the night before. It was ridiculously warm on the sun, and by the time this game was over, I was ready to pass out (reference picture on the left to verify this). We had to find out where our car was parked, I guess it was on some residential street nearby, but I wasn't paying attention on the walk towards the Stadium. With the thrill of victory in our hearts, this uplifted gang of three treaded back towards Milwaukee.
