I had asked to do one thing while we were down here in Florida - check out a MLB baseball spring training game. After searching around the Orlando area, I decided that we should go to Space Coast Stadium in Vera to see the Washington Nationals play the Los Angeles Dodgers. The deciding factor was that Space Coast Stadium is the home of the Brevard County Manatees, the single A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. I had intended to tailgate before the baseball game because that's what we do in Milwaukee before Brewers games. We brought along plenty of beer, but we didn't have brats and a grill so we settled for the next best thing - Lunchables. I know it's a little weird, but I was super excited to stack meat and cheese on top of crackers and consume them at a rapid pace. I know that it's not traditional tailgating, but Jenny and I are anything but traditional people. We elicited some stares from the other people, but that's because they don't understand us.

Orlando Spring Break - Day 5

Any regular visitor to this site will recognize what just happened - Jenny has gotten a hold of the camera and is now taking pictures of the sky and feet. It's times like this that I'm glad that I have a digital camera as opposed to an old-school film camera because Jenny could have wasted an entire roll (for those youngsters who don't know how many pictures there are on a roll of film, that's 24-27 pictures) of film taking pictures of random and stupid things. I have so many pictures of the sky and feet, I almost asked a contestant from the Price is Right to intervene while Jenny is being snap-happy and yell out "THAT'S TOO MUCH" so that she would get the drift and put the camera down.

We only had a short amount of time to complete our tailgating before it was time to go into the stadium so I started double fisting it so that I could drink the beer before it got too warm. My goal was too have a major buzz or be in a minor drunk state before we went into the stadium, so I had to kick it up a notch if I was to achieve my goal. I was doing this as a true Milwaukee native would, and I had to represent and show these Floridians what tailgating was all about.

I've always been a big fan of mixing. Watch me cooking up a storm in the kitchen sometime and you'll see for yourself. Things got mixed up like madness when I started drinking Leinenkugal's beer and started making all sorts of combination beers, most notably the 5 Seasons of Leine's which features 5 different beers all mixed together. I decided to see what kind of beer I could make if I mixed Landshark Lager with Honey Amber Rose. Delicious

We didn't realize that the beer bottles we bought were not twist off, so we had to go and find a nearby store so that we could find a bottle opener. We bought one at a Wal-Mart then made our way to the parking lot to do some hardcore pre-game drinking. Jenny and I each picked out a six pack of beer. As you saw on the last page, I chose Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville's Landshark Lager. Jenny picked out this local beer that was brewed with honey and rose extract. Yes, rose like the flower. It does sound a bit odd, but it tasted really good.
