Orlando Spring Break - Day 4 |
I tapped on the fruit to see if I could use my sense of hearing to identify the unidentified object. It made no sound, and seeing as how my senses of vision and touch had already failed, I had to throw it against the tree so that I could taste and smell it. Those last 2 senses worked, which is why I believe that God gave you 5 to work with. The success rate goes up because you have more chances to try before you fail. |
Hole #16 was a doozy. When we first walked up to the tee box and got a look at the map, we knew that we were in for a treat. If you've never played Frisbee golf, then I have to key you in to a little secret - people who throw with their right hand will gain the benefit of a left slice or hook following their shot. Left hander throwers will see the opposite happen to their shot. For this hole it meant that if you throw it straight off of the tee box, you will have a good chance that it will clear the water and settle on dry land. The hook/slice is never guaranteed, so Jenny was a little wary about throwing her Frisbee into a premature watery grave. She started the hole from the white tee box. I was feeling a little more ambitious, mostly because I had a lot of liquid courage in me. That's the street name for alcohol. I shot from the red tee, and as you can see from the picture, I just barely cleared the water. There was a moment while the disc was up in the air that I we didn't think that I threw it hard enough, and Jenny started to worry. I calmed her down when I promised that I would go swimming for it if I had to. Thankfully I didn't have to, because I was in no mood to wade in the swampy waters and possibly end up in the belly of several hungry alligators. |
It took a full extension from my arm to reach Jenny's disc while I was dangling dangerous on the edge of the land. If I had the choice between looking danger straight in the eyes or proceeding to hole 17, I probably would have chosen hole 17. But I made a promise to Jenny that I would retrieve her disc from the water if it did land in their. Technically, the disc was in the water, so I was bound by my promise to retrieve the disc at all costs. I never go back on a promise to Jenny. |
