Aaron and Melissa are perfect for each other, and I would say that she is the coolest girl in the whole world if not for two reasons - the backlash that I'd get from some people (like my sister Jenny) and that I hope to find the coolest girl in the world so I can marry her. So I will just play it safe by saying she's one of the coolest girls. |
I shouldn't really knock the seats too much, since we waited until right before the game to purchase the tickets. And this was the best they had. It could have been worse (and it would be for tomorrow's game - standing room only!) but it's not where you are, it's who you are with. And I was with 2 of my best friends. |
I don't know why the Detroit baseball team was called the Tigers. Other than being a fierce creature, which is a common theme in the naming of sports teams, I don't understand what Tigers have to do with Detroit or the state of Michigan. In Wisconsin, I get the Packers (named after a packing company), Bucks (due to our deer population in the state), Badgers (our state animal) and the Brewers (the beer industry in Milwaukee). A quick internet search revealed that the Tigers were a military unit based in Detroit during the Civil War and the Spanish-American War. When the Detroit baseball team (known as the Wolverines) entered the major leagues in 1901, they sought permission to use the name Tigers as a tribute to the men who fought for their country as part of that military unit. And they got it and the name exists today. |
I sat in the last seat in the last row in the furthest section from the plate just to prove my point of how far away we were. I'm spoiled by working on the Club Level at Miller Park and by my 2009 season tickets in the left field Loge Level. I cant be far away any more. |
Todd Coffey has been one of my favorite players on the team since the Brewers claimed him off waivers from Cincinnati in September of 2008. His work ethic and sprint from the bullpen electrifies Miller Park. I even once considered getting a Coffey jersey but have since reconsidered since relief pitchers come and go quickly. |
So far the 1st annual 3rd Wheel Baseball Trip had been going really well, and unless by some freak event I can find a girlfriend, we will continue to have this much fun every summer. The 2010 schedule has been released, and planning has begun for this year's adventure. Stay tuned to see what kind of trouble we get into. |
Aaron thinks that he is sexy. And he has a right too. I think that I am sexy too, so I know exactly how he feels. They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I'd like to think that beauty is in the eye of the beerholder. I'm hoping that works out for me. |
The Brewers were down 9-2 in the 7th inning (thanks to Dave Bush, who in 2009 was never the same after getting hit in the arm with a line drive on June 4th) and I decided to rally cap it. Thanks to me, they scored 2 runs in the 7th and 1 more in the 8th, but it wouldn't be enough as they ended up losing game 2 in the series 9-5. |
Oh Canada + Motown Madness - Brewers vs. Tigers in Detroit |
The end of the right field upper deck was to my immediate right, and for the entire game I feared that I would fall off of it. That's mostly because I was drinking a lot today, which is also why I stayed in my seat for the entire game. But every now and then, I would look over and make sure downtown wasn't trying to pull me over the edge. |
