All of this nostalgic movie location viewing made my tummy rumble, so Jenny and I decided "let's all go to SmackDoanld's!" Cheap people like us appreciate the dollar menu, but this location had McMozzarella sticks complete with McMarinara. It's good that they were only $1 because they really sucked. I'll definitely stick with my McValue Fries and McDouble Cheeseburger.

It's no secret that movies are filmed in the New York City area. We've already visited the Quick Stop, Rockefeller Center, the Ghostbusters HQ, the Statue of Liberty, and tomorrow we would be visiting Central Park. But one lace that I wanted to go before it got dark was Bayonne, NJ, pictured here. Behind our car is the Bayonne Bridge, which appeared in War of the Worlds (2005.)

If you've seen the 2005 Steven Spielberg film War of the Worlds, you might remember the neighborhood that Tom Cruise lives in. Well, this it it. You most certainly will remember the first time in the movie when the aliens attack. When Cruise goes home to get his kids, he speeds off in a mini van while everything, including the Bayonne Bridge, is being torn to shreds by the alien lasers.

In the movie, Tom Cruise plays a dock worker in New Jersey, and for realism, they actually filmed it in New Jersey. I knew this before we went out there, so I used the Wikipedia to find out where they filmed. Thanks to the internet, we found out that it was Bayonne, which was very close to our hotel, and was also on the way home from Red Bank and Leonard. Although we would only be in town for a minute to look at eh bridge and the neighborhood, it was still something to see and do. We were planning on taking it easy today, and a nice car ride through the Garden State was exactly what we needed to recharge our batteries for another long and tiring day in the big scary city. The drive back to the hotel was uneventful, and we decided to cap off the day with a leisurely swim in the pool and a relaxing dip in the hot tub.

My favorite thing about this hotel was that it was too nice for common folk like Jenny and I. I guess a lot of people traveling on business call this place a temporary home while on the road, and it has a 4 star rating. That having been said, we were the only 2 kids that we saw in the entire hotel, so we always had the pool to ourselves. We were often frowned upon by the hotel staff because we were engaging in tomfoolery and dragging down the reputation of this fine establishment.
