Ellis Island is an important place in American History, but we didn't visit it because we didn't feel like it. The Ferry stops here before it docks at the mainland, and you are welcome to spend some time looking at historical stuff, but we wanted to get back into the city and get some dinner and look at some more stuff. Someday when we have some more time, and when I am older and I care more bout historical shit, I'll go back and read all about immigrants migrating to this country in search of an opportunity to strike it big in the country where all things are possible.

There were these two Mexican dudes hanging out by the railing on the ferry back to the mainland. I thought that it would be funny to hang out with them and ponder the same things that they were pondering. If I could read minds, then I would tell you what they were thinking. Jenny wanted the chance to do what they were doing, and promptly stood alongside them and watched time pass before their eyes.

Jenny waves hello to Ellis Island and welcomes all of the immigrants who are coming to America for the very first time. Actually, she is pretending to do it because it has been 52 years since it has processed an inbound hopeful citizen. Now it sits as a museum and reminder that life in America was the dream that people wanted to live.

My trusty map of all streets and subway lines in New York City helped to ease the pain of finding out where everything was. It wasn't as hard as I thought that it would be to get around the city, and public transportation is your best bet to getting from point A to point B. If it wasn't for crazy people, I would ride the subway all day long.

Fortunately this time around, there weren't any crazy cracked-out people yelling at us, so our trip was uneventful. We were traveling uptown and had to wait until we were at our destination before leaving the train (duh). There were plenty of advertisements up on the walls of the train, and I wanted to believe them and attend college at the Metropolitan College of New York and take my career further with more credentials.
