Batting Practice at Miller Park August 4th 2016

It's not as easy as it looks pal. I dare you to go out and try it.

The Iceman is about to step into the cage... Lord help us all. What kind of display will he put on? Only God knows. But he ain't talking.

I'm glad that I have a video to show you what it was like to step into the cage and take batting practice at Miller Park. The pictures are cool. The stories are cool. But they really don't do it justice. The video lets you get right up in there with me and get into the action. I wish I had a better video or one of those GoPro cameras attached to my cap, but this at least gives you a better idea of what it was like to be me at that moment in time. Of course there was so much else going on in my head that you are not privy to, but I hope that I was able to give you a taste. I wish that you will someday get to take a bite and savor this delicious meal like I did, but until that happens, salivate while I dine on baseballs in the Miller Park batting cage.

Nothing could distract The Iceman. Not even the girl in the skirt.

That is some good contact. Well done Sir Iceman.

Ladies and Gentlemen - here are your sluggers for today and today only! Get a good look at them now before they are famous!
Oh he really got a hold of that one! To left-center and deep!

That's some good form. I'm surprised because I'm not an athlete. I'm not even a Mathlete! I have no athletic ability whatsoever, but yet I was able to do a little something something while in the batting cage at Miller Park,

I thought I made this look good, but it turns out that I have nothing on Mike. Hey Brewers scouts! Are you watching?!? Sign this guy up! At least give him an invitation to Spring Training!
At the end of my batting practice session, I helped to clean up all of the foul balls that stayed in the cage. Because I'm a nice guy.
They had a camera fixed on the batting cage so everyone got to see you on the scoreboard. I would have been intimated by this, but I was too busy concentrating on making contact.

Someone had to sacrifice themselves to get all up and close to take pictures and videos. But many thanks goes to Mom as well for capturing the moment from afar.

This man enjoyed the shit out this experience. Sorry for the crass language, but there was no better way to explain it. Sometimes you just have to swear when you're having a damn good time.

There's First Contact and then there is Second Contact. Who is to tell which one is greater? Contact is contact.

Sometimes I wish that human cloning was a reality. I would love to have two of me. That's because (in my opinion), no one shoots a picture or video like I do. But I often need to be in front of the camera as well. So when I can be behind the camera, I can set up the shots in the best possible way and capture all of the action from the best perspective. I don't mean to diss Mike in any way, but with him batting, I was able to capture this experience in the way that I intended it to be seen. Human cloning can't come soon enough, but I don't think the World is ready for another Iceman. One is enough. Maybe even too much depending on who you talk to.

Yeeeeeeaaaaaahhh! You hit that ball! Smack it like it owes you money! That just sounds wrong in so many ways.

Taking batting practice at Miller Park was such a rush. When it was over we were all jacked up on adrenaline. As we exited the cage we were laughing and talking about this experience. We did far better than we expected and we were filled with pure child-like joy.

How does it look up on the big screen? Because it looked pretty good from down here. We are undeniably beautiful from every angle. But that thought is often a figment of the imagination.

This was an incredible day. I wrote a lot of words and did my best to explain how amazing this was. The pictures help. The videos help. But nothing could convey the emotions and feelings that swept over me. This was something that I never will forget.

These guys think that they know what they are doing. Don't wake them up. All they ever wanted was to sleep with a chance to dream and this dream just became a reality. So without further ado, I present to you Your 2016 class of amateur sluggers. Thank you for the smattering of applause. We appreciate every single ounce of support that we are fortunate to receive. Trust me. We are.

You wanna know why they call me The Iceman? It's not because I'm cool under pressure or because I used to fill the ice machines at UWM. It's because I'm a cold, hard badass. I mean it. I have no feeling in the majority of my body (especially in my heart) and I have no problem stepping on or over anybody to get where I need to go. Somehow and in some way, I will make it to the top of the pyramid. Lord help anyone who tries to stand on the tracks as this train comes barreling through.

Mom wanted me to pose with the Mickey Mouse statue. Because the Mouse is King of the castle.

This was a lot of work for me. This was pretty exhausting (both physically and mentally). But if I was given the opportunity, I would take batting practice all day, every day. Until the wheels fall off. I doubt that I will ever get this chance again, so I am proud to say that I left it all out on the field and didn't hold anything back. All you can ever do is give 100% effort in all of your endeavors and let everything else play out. That is what you can control. So that's what I did.

Hanging out in the dugout makes me feel like I'm a part of the team. I am (whether they know it or not) be it personally with a Sombrero in the leftfield bleachers or professionally as an In-Seat Waitstaff on the Club Level).
