June's Blanket at Jenny's Graduation Party

Pookon's Lost Archives:

After seeing this picture, I'm gonna get even with Danny Evans. How dare he face the other way while my band is on stage? Doesn't he know that he has to devote all of his attention to June's Blanket? Well, he will now.

This is the part during Hoedown where Billy-Bob shoots Hank in the hand. It's so wonderfully acted out by the band members of June's Blanket. Playing the part of Billy-Bob is Tim Reck. And playing the part of Hank is Scott Reck. Ladies and gentleman, give them a round of applause.

June's Blanket always sets out to entertain. That is our number one goal when we wake up every morning. Sometimes good ideas for songs go awry, and it takes more than good harmonies to make a song work. At this party, we debuted a brand new song title "Beef-rider in the River." We always had doubts about the song, because it pretty much sucked, but we promised a new song, and we had to deliver. You'd have to hear this song to believe how bad it was, but it's so bad that I'm never going to let you hear it. I won't let you suffer like those poor people at Jenny's party.

This show would have been an absolute disaster if we didn't play another new song (not Beef-rider.) That song happened to be John Jacob Jingle Heimer Schmidt, which has become one of our favorite songs to sing. The crowd also gets into it because it is really simple, and everyone learned the words back when they were 4. It also gives me the chance to go to town on the harmonica, and just let loose. If it wasn't for JJHS saving the show, June's Blanket might have been finished.
