In true Balkman fashion, he awoke as soon as the words beer pong were mentioned and the sound of ping pong balls hitting cups rang throughout the hotel. We played a few games before bed, then Lorge, Balkman and Amy went to a nearby casino to gamble the night away. I would've gone with them, but I didn't have any $dollars and I wanted to get a good night's sleep

The worst thing about partying hard is that sooner or later you get all partied out.  On the ride home, Balkman said goodbye to Kauffman Stadium and hello to Dreamland. He deserves a nice break though; he put a lot of effort and attitude into today's events.

Brewers Games in Kansas City

They certainly were a nice and friendly bunch in Kansas City - they deployed fireworks after the game to celebrate the Brewers victory. The lights dimmed in Kauffman Stadium and explosive devices filled the night sky as we looked on from our seats. You know from my stories of Afterglow that I am quite fond of all firework related events, so we definitely stuck around to see this one. As far as firework shows go (with the Milwaukee 3rd of July fireworks being the best, followed by the Summerfest Big Bang being the 2nd) this one was pretty good. Then again, anything could have happened right now and still been good because it followed  a BREWERS VICTORY!!!

Balkman was addicted to the speed pitch game like crack-heads are addicted to, well, crack. Somewhere along the line he received a Royals growth chart featuring Sluggerrr, the Royals lion mascot. It was obviously intended for smaller children, for Balkman looks like he outgrew this chart years ago...

I got a final (at least for today) look at Kauffman stadium as we were leaving its friendly confines. I didn't get a good chance to walk around and check it out, which often happens because my focus is entirely on the field , so I have yet to make my overall judgment on this stadium...
