Dave Bush pitched 7 strong innings and the Milwaukee offense (most notably Geoff Jenkins) got the job done on the road, which was the Achilles Heel of the 2006 Brewers team. At this point in the season, they were something like 12-22 on the road, and they eventually finished at 27-54 away from beautiful Miller Park. Basically, they really needed this win to gain some much needed ground in the weak National League Central Division.

One common phrase that is overused is about to add one more notch to its belt - if you cant beat 'em, join 'em. But the score was 7-2, the Brewers were beating them. Then why, Michael Balkman, oh why were you joining them? That question is almost as perplexing as the old lady who swallowed a fly. I don't know why she swallowed a fly. There are tons of explanations, but in the end, it always ends up with "perhaps she'll die." They never really give you the answer why...

The Brewers were still leading 7-2, which in no way explains why Balkman is wearing his rally cap. I mean c'mon, they already got the George Webb's burger run. They already are giving  you 6 burgers for $5 dollars and still you want more?

Brewers Games in Kansas City

I've done a bit of research on Kansas City prior to writing this article, and it turns out that KC has the 2nd most fountains of any city in the world, second only to Rome, Italy. Between 1890 and the 1920's. several early city developers insisted on putting up fountains everywhere, and the trend just kept on steamrolling. Apparently, they claim to have over 200 fountains in the city, so it was no surprise to the locals when they saw one occupying the outfield of Kaufman Stadium when it opened in 1973. Since the team hasn't been good since 1985, this is the main drawing point to attending this stadium. Or else that's what I thought until I spent a little more time here at Kauffman Stadium...

Balkman was the only one in Kauffman stadium who was excited, at least that's what it looks like in this picture. Maybe it's just because I know the guy well, but Balkman stands out like a sore thumb in this sea of unhappy Rotals fans. Or maybe it's just because he's the only one who was standing up and applauding their team. I can see how this is possible, seeing as KC ain't got nothing to cheer for.

A kids play area exists behind the seats in right field. There's a small baseball field, a speed pitch game, and some batting cages. Balkman found out that kids of all ages can participate in the gaming, so he tested his might in the speed pitch. I don't understand how it happened, but he did pitch well enough to win a t-shirt featuring popular center fielder David DeJesus.

Standing and applauding for the Brewers was catching on like the common cold in flu season. This extremely generalized analogy is brought to you by Scott Lorge's ability to clap faster than the speed of light, which hindered my ability to come up with a creative and innovative sentence..
