Afterglow 2010 - Day 7 Friday |
We must have raged it pretty hard last night on KK because we were all a little slow to get moving this morning. On the last day of Afterglow we should be raging it like no other because it would be a full year until we get to do it again. Instead we sat around in Cabin #2 and moped about, saddened by the fact it was our last day. When Gary and Kevin came over they were followed by their cousins Maddie and Nate McLouth. Nate was all amped up (he must have had sugary cereal this morning) and he started wailing on Brian. It must have been payback from Brian hitting him in the head with a football during last year's Obstacle Course when Team Revolution derailed and we lost 2/7th of our team. |
And by swimming I meant hanging out on the HD, which technically puts us on the lake instead of in it. But the pact does state you just have to jump off the HD and Red Book rules say you can't climb down the ladder, so by going up we fulfill our part of the pact. |
To be fair today wasn't the nicest day of the week, but we still had to go swimming. Mostly because of the pact we all signed but also because it would be another year before we could do it again. That alone should compel you to spend the whole day in the lake. |
As nice as refreshing as the Big Pool is, the HT is a more comfortable place to hang out on a bad weather day. Despite the warnings of no diving, no rough housing, no pregnant women and no use of alcohol in the hot tub, it still seemed like the better idea that day. We were all pretty tired and lazy, and we would all have to kick it up a notch if we wanted to make our last day at Afterglow in 2010 memorable. |
I usually only take 1 kayak ride a year. This is mostly because I am fat and I don't like to do anything that involves hard work or exercise. Kayaking is very exhausting and takes a toll on someone who doesn't have the physical stature of a Greek God. So I'm not alone here. |
Before you get all up in arms about us wasting away a day in paradise let me point out that the kids weren't the only ones doing it. EVERYBODY'S DOING IT!! We were just following the example set by our elders who most certainly have the right idea. |
