Afterglow 2010 - Day 6 Thursday

It's not strange to see us wearing sombreros on our heads. In fact, it's a little weird if we aren't wearing this fashionable South of the border headwear. We all rock them so well and we are Revolution worthy. Would you expect anything less of us? I wouldn't. That would be silly.

There was a time when we did the Afterglow Sandcastle competition. When we were 6 years old. Wait... what say you Pookon.com historian? You say that we last did it in 2008? For once you have done your homework and are correct. I knew there was a reason I hired you.

Yesterday we raged. It was a full on rager the entire day. There was no way that we could duplicate that, and even if we could the question is whether or not we should. We'll see on that one, but while we were pondering that Stacy was Starting the Revolution with her parents.

Gary was alive and well in the year 2011 at Afterglow Lake Resort. It was a joy having him back this year and he proved that even though he took a hiatus for a few years, he could still rage it with the big boys. And you know that I truly do appreciate him doing that.

Jenny Reck was awake but from the look of the picture she was still kind of sleeping. That or she was just thinking really hard. Hey pal why don't you stop making fun of people for a change and just tell it like it is. Sometimes people just close their eyes asshole.

I think this is the only proof that I have that I went swimming today, and it's just me standing in front of the lake. Which is why you always use the body system when swimming so you have a witness that can vouch you upheld your end of the pact to swim everyday.

Brian is a majestic beauty of a man. At least that's what the ladies and his LP Kevin McKissick tell me. I understand why Kevin is talking to me, but why are the ladies? They don't normally do that. Hmm... Trickery is afoot up here in the Northwoods.

The beauty of everyone and my Mom having a digital camera these days is that I have proof of things that I was not able to witness with my own eyes. Stacy has a thirst for danger and excitement, but I didn't know that Jenny was wild enough to jump off of the low dive. Truth be told it's only a foot above the water or something, but Jenny's not known to live on the edge. These pictures are evidence that she really is a wild child.

Just when I thought that Jenny couldn't be any crazier she goes and pulls a stunt like this... and TOTALLY REDEEMS HERSELF!! I know that I haven't been giving much credit to Stacy in the last few minutes but it's no surprise that she doesn't fear the reaper or the HD. But Jenny on the other hand jumps off the HD only like once a year, and sadly I wasn't there to witness her annual plunge. Stacy on the other hand spends so much time up there (as Brian, Kevin and myself often do) that she could claim that place as a secondary residence on her taxes. We all could do the same if we were fiscally resourceful with our finances.

As if the low and high dive weren't enough for a days workout at Afterglow, these kids tried to sink the log or stand on it or whatever kids these days do with a tethered piece of lumber. I've lost touch with the youth of today. I have no idea what they do for fun.

Uncle Greg is my hero and I hope that I am just like him when I grow up. And if I keep going on the same path I'm on now, I will be there someday. Take that how you want to. I'm not saying it's a good or bad thing, but you have to agree that the man is nothing short of amazing. he can rock a sombrero just as well as a towel and he has the moustache that accentuates any look that he chooses to sport on any given day. UG is the man.
