Green Bay Spring Break (page 4)
There is something about this place in the fact that it puts a smile on everyone's face, even if that smile is non-apparent. But I'll be darned if I wasn't smiling on the inside where it mattered. Never judge a book by its cover, and never listen to me draw on with worthless clichéd explanations of things.
I'm now at the end of the dock (the one on the right side of the beach, as you are looking out on to the lake) looking back at the lodge. Why do I even attempt a description when you can simply see what I am trying to say? Because I like to overly complicate even the simplest of things...
It had been years (I'm not even going to try and count 'em) since my Dad has been up here. But there was no reason to be upset about it, cause it was his own choice that separated him from this paradise. We'll not spend the time to lament on past decisions, for everything know has come full circle now that we are back here. We stood out on the dock for a unique photo opportunity set against the frozen lake and winter background.
Some careless man (woman or child perhaps) dropped what they were doing (floating in the lake) when the ice age came and obviously ran for shelter, abandoning their flotation device. The cast away water toy was left to endure the long winter half frozen in the murky water, a plastic remnant of a summer of joy.
It's good to see that the Christmas spirit is well and very much live, but in March? I guess you can make an argument that this sort of tree commonly exists in nature in these parts, but we can all see that this tree was placed here on purpose and did not grow on its own. I rest my case, your Honor.
This will be the first (and hopefully only) time that I was fully clothed on the raft. The only time that I can see myself swimming in full on clothing is when I am incapable of making correct judgmental decisions (if you aren't catching my drift, I won't explain it to you.) I guess I could take a boat out there, but that would be illegal because boats are supposed to steer clear of the raft for safety reasons.
I dare you to come out and make smores around this campfire in the winter. You won't get anything for it, because I too would go out and do it.
