Afterglow 2008 - Day 7 Friday

You'd be hard pressed to find a time when Timmy doesn't have some kind of instrument in his hands. It used to always be a guitar, but since he joined the Micah Olsan band, I always see him behind the drums banging on them all day. But he'll never be too far away from the guitar, and that night he played us some sweet melodies.

You'd be hard pressed to find a time when Scotty doesn't have some kind of drink in his hands. Most people would take offense to a statement like this, but in my case it is sadly true. You'd think that I would do something to make me and alcohol less synonymous with each other, but for now we just walk happily hand in hand.

One of our new family games is the beloved Apples to Apples. I don't know how many people have or have not played it, but it is a very basic game that the entire family can play. The best thing about it is that you stop playing logical cards, and start playing cards relevant to the the person choosing the correct red card to match their green card. If you've never played it, I'll happily introduce you to all of the fun. Here's a hint for all you beginners - I will always choose the red Darth Vader card even though it doesn't match the green description of courteous or sexy (thanks Jenny!). In my book, Darth Vader trumps all. He even trumps Trump. That's how freakin' sweet I think Darth Vader is.

So we had a good amount of kids over Friday night, and it was pretty evident that we had run out of things to do. Don't get me wrong, Apples to Apples is a magnificent game, and I enjoy playing it, but there has to be something better to do with the time while we're up in here in paradise. Obviously I never come up with that something better to do, because if I have, you wouldn't be looking at pictures of us sitting around playing card games. But you know that you love looking at pictures of us doing non-athletic events. That's why you came here.
