We rocked the campfire until it was time for quiet hours to start, then we raged it up on Kurutz's Kourt. We all grabbed some beers or mugs filled with Bacardi, and laughed and joked with family. What happens on KK stays on KK, but if we were able to remember any of the conversations that went on up there, I'm sure we would have no problem with telling them.

The Brewers game didn't go as planned, but that gave me a real reason to S the last of the B and finish the Chillable Red. I would have done it in victory as well as in defeat, because there is always a time and a place to S the B of B W. No matter what my Mom says. She can be wrong sometimes...

Since the majority of people up here were from the great state of Wisconsin or its inferior FIB neighbors to the South (Illinois), I asked Pete if we could gather in the lounge to watch the Brewers/Cubs game. It was game 1 in a very crucial 4 game series at Miller Park. At the time, the Cubs were leading the NL Central by a few games, and even though it was only late July, it gave the Brewers a chance to make up a little ground in the standings. The Cubs got off to a 2-0 lead, but then the Brewers stormed back with homeruns from JJ Hardy and Ryan Braun. They had a 3-2 lead in the 7th when Rickie Weeks made a costly error on what should have been a double play that allowed the Cubs to go up 4-3. Russell "the Muscle" Branyan hit a pinch hit homerun to tie the game at 4, but Salomon Torres gave up 2 runs in the 9th and allowed the Cubs to win the game. It was pretty much the worst game I ever watched because I really wanted to stick it to the Cubs fans in attendance. But I still had fun hanging out with my family and friends, even though the outcome of the game was less than desirable.

I spent some time with Kevin, my honorary cousin and pookon.com's #1 visitor. There wasn't much to say or do because the game was still going on, but we managed to stick in some conversations in between the boos and cheers. I'm not really ever accurate at reporting events about Afterglow, so I mainly just recount my memories. Since a drunken haze usually clouds my memories, I usually rely on Kevin to give me the rundown on what actually happened up there. Without Kevin, I would just totally lie about all things Afterglow. He's a good kid.
