Florida Spring Break 2008 - Day 2

The chickens were let out in the yard, but since they really can't fly, BJ wasn't concerned about them escaping. The yard itself was fenced in, so we knew that they weren't going anywhere. To be honest with you, I don't know why anyone in Florida would keep chickens in their yard, but if you met BJ, you'd probably understand. He's the kind of guy who would just have chickens.

This little dog had me in stitches. Apparently there is something encoded in every dog's DNA that requires them to go chasing after things. They usually loves sticks, tennis balls, cars, and other dogs, but this dog liked chickens. While the chickens clucked and bawked and desperately ran for their lives, Percy was hot on their heals scaring the living shit out of them. It was freakin' hilarious.

The chickens that weren't let out by BJ watched safely from the security of the chicken-wired enclosure. They knew that not even a smart dog could wrestle its way through these thin metal wires. In fact, I think I even saw some of them laughing at their fiends who were being chased by Percy. What a bunch of chicken jerks. You don't make fun of your friends when their lives are in danger. Besides, they were taking the easy road out by claiming that they were staying behind to guard the nest and these unborn chickens. They are the jerks by not coming to the rescue of their friends who were being threatened by the monster dog. They can make excuses, but I know I'm right.

Percy wouldn't leave the chickens alone, so they climbed up to this ledge near the top of the coop. So then Percy climbed on top of the small coop's roof so that he could continue to hassle them. That dog was bullying those chickens around the yard. What a punk.

I almost didn't notice this turtle hanging out in the corner of the yard by the goldfish pond. It could be because his shell allowed him to look like a rock and blend in with his surroundings, but it also could be because I wasn't looking for a turtle back here.

Home

After the beach, we stopped by the local food store (Publix) to get some groceries. I was really only interested in picking up an energy drink, because it was like 3:30 pm and already I was partied out. I sit at a computer in a cubicle all day man, physical activity of any kind really wears me out. Full Throttle to the rescue!
