Florida Spring Break 2008 - Day 4 |
When we got back near the car, I wasn't ready to quit partying, but I didn't want to pay bar prices for beer. I had a few bottles of Land Shark Lager in a cooler in the car, but I didn't have my keys (which has a can opener on it) so I couldn't open the bottle. I started crying, but my Dad made me all better when he opened the bottle using the car door. And then the festivities could continue as scheduled. |
I don't really think that I have to explain to you how cool my Dad is, but I'm going to do it anywhere. He always lets me visit him wherever he happens to be living, and he usually pays for me to get there or buys me stuff when I'm there. Then he takes off of work and hangs out with me while I'm in town. And then he let me bring a roadie (alcoholic beverage to drink on the road) in the car. Sweet. |
We then went to this game room place (which has slot machines like a casino) but it isn't a casino because it is illegal to pay out money. So then what does it pay out? Credits, which can be redeemed for gift cards to WalMart and stuff like that. I put in like $40, but didn't win a gosh darn thing. |
Since we were already on the Atlantic coast and we needed to drive South down it to get home, we decided to stop by Cocoa Beach as the sun was setting. You can see that it was starting to get dark out, but my face was really that tan. Even though I had only spent 4 days down here, but I had been outside more in these past 4 days in Florida than the past 4 months in Wisconsin. Most of that has to do with the fact that it was still really freakin' cold up in Wisconsin. The other part is that I really just love hanging out at the Ocean. At the end of this pier there is a little Tiki bar, so we sat down and had a beer. Once we found out that it was allowed to walk around with your drinks, we started walking around the pier and the area to check more of it out. My Dad has been out here before, but I was a first-timer around these parts. |
We went back to pick up his wife Kathy and then went out to this kickass pizza joint that was in the neighborhood. I was sitting outside drinking my roadie, but the waitress let me bring it in. That didn't stop me from getting a beer (I don't know why I was jones'n for a Corona). It's not like it's a good tasting beer or anything. I just really needed one. |
