It was a little early, but I kept true to my "I'm on vacation" form by having an early morning (9:09 AM) beer. It was a Key West from the Florida Brewing company, and one of the few remaining beers that I purchased yesterday. The plan today was to drive up to Cape Canaveral to go to the NASA Space Center, since I haven't been there since 1997 when I was 16 years old. My Dad was on the phone, so I took my beer outside to chill underneath the palm tree in his sweet backyard.

My Dad's backyard was really nice, secluded, and chicken-free. That was my favorite thing about it. I also really dug the palm trees, which are one of my favorite things about Florida. That and the ocean make me almost want to live down here. But my life is up North in Wisconsin. My family, friends, job, team, hobby (beer pong) and other stuff is there, and I couldn't possibly leave it all behind.

I sat in the car waiting for my Dad, because he had to go back into the house to grab his swimming trunks in case we went back to the ocean tonight after NASA. While I was waiting in the car, I scanned through the stations to find some Prince music. I searched every single station, but I didn't hear a single Prince song. I'd have to say that I was a little disappointed, but on the positive side, at least I didn't have to listen to any Prince music. Sometimes that can be a good thing.

The inside of the apartment was as standard as they get - kitchen, 2 bedrooms, living room and bathroom. There's was nothing terribly exciting about it, but I did like the skylights in the dining room and the bathroom. When the sun is out (and it is during daytime hours for the better part of the year) you don't even need to turn the lights on. In the long run, it will probably save a lot of money on electricity. It would be nice if my Dad decorated a little bit and made it feel more like a home than a rental unit, but since he moves and travels so much, it's kind of hard for him to make the house feel more like a home.
