The (Deep) South Carolina 2010 - Day 2 |
James and Melissa are obsessed with bar games. Games like Big Buck Hunter, Silver Strike Bowling, "no pay out" bar slot machines or anything that you can put a quarter in and the machine does something. Now I'll admit that these games provide something to do when you are out at the bar, but isn't drinking something to do already? I guess when you go out to the bar pretty often you need to come up with more things to do. There's only so many times that you can have one of those classic bar debates anyway. Besides, I do look badass holding a plastic gun. |
Brian and Dave work at Schooner's Bar & Grill and are two of the coolest bar dudes that I've ever met. You can go anywhere for drinks and bar style eatery, but it's people like this that keep you coming back time and time again. I spent a lot of time at Schooner's in the few times that I've been down to South Carolina and I every time has been something special. And cheap too! I doubt I spent $20 for 4-5 hours of drinking. |
Lake Murray is just around the bend in the road and apparently it's a pretty popular destination for boat activities like fishing, water skiing and drinking. People like to drink when they are hanging out on the lake and they need ice to keep their beverages cold. Now I appreciate a little competition when it comes to the ice service industry, but I wasn't quite ready to be replaced by a machine. I've had to deal with an automated intimidator before (in the UWM Union) but at least I was responsible for filling some of the soda machines. But here this Ice House had completely taken over and also promised twice the ice! How am I going to compete with that? This was like my own personal "robots take over the world" apocalyptic Judgment Day. And screw the machines. We were here first. Man will survive and triumph over his mechanic creations. |
