CineVegas 2008 - The Next Day |
Star Trek the Next Generation comes in at a close 2nd, and could almost be tied for my favorite because of Geordi, Data, Worf, and of course, Captain Jean-Luc Picard. It was just a little before my time (1987 - 1994) although I have found a greater love of it through syndication and the movie adaptations of this series. |
On the 2nd try, I succeeded in flicking the switch from video to picture and captured a pic of myself looking disinterested in my surroundings. I know Vegas is always changing due to constant construction (as evident by the half-finished buildings behind me) but I really feel like I've seen all that this city has to offer. |
I've been a lifelong fan of Star Trek, and I've always wanted to go to the Star Trek Experience at the Hilton. When I found out that it may be closing later this year, I decided to check it out. And then I found out it cost like $50 to go in. I said that's a lot of dollars; I don't like Star Trek that much. I'll watch that stuff for free on TV. |
Star Trek Voyager was always my favorite Star Trek series because it was the one that was on when I was a teenager. I was dorky enough to watch it regularly, and I had enough free time to care about television. Plus it had Tuvok and Seven of 9 on it. That certainly didn't hurt it's popularity as far as I am concerned. |
Since I didn't feel like paying a lot of money to go on motion rides and look at memorabilia, I went back to the Palms Hotel to hang out with my film 101 buds. Since there was really nothing going on today, they all decided to sit by the pool and order drinks and sandwiches. Since it was such a beautiful day out, and I wanted to be as far away from the slot machines as possible, I decided to join them. The pool at the Palms was really sweet, plus there were tons of hotties to look at. Too bad none of them were looking at my ugly ass. I should have told them I was a professional athlete and budding movie star. That would've definitely suckered them in towards me like a tractor beam. |
They allow you to bring your drinks in and around the pool, which is awesome until someone pulls a move similar to Caddyshack when someone sees a Baby Ruth in the pool. It wasn't doodie in the pool, but someone did vomit, so they had to clear it out and clean it. I was pissed off, because I was just getting comfortable lounging in the pool. It was a little over 100 degrees, and there was not a cloud in the sky. That means that the pavement was so hot, you could fry an egg on it! Yeah! You like that? I'm sorry, I'm not drunk enough right now to be original. So it goes without saying that the pool felt great, and if I ever find that dude or chick who blew big chunks in the pool, I'm gonna bash their skull in. Don't they know that if you're gonna to spew, spew into this (a Dixie cup)? Now the Palms pool attendants need to clean up hurl and lung butter. Just what we wanted to see them do on a Saturday afternoon. Nothing like throw up to get in the way of hotties. |
