California Spring Break (Day 3)
We ate lunch at this place called Manhattan Pizza. Craig and I got pizza, which was ready in like 1 minute, but my Dad had ordered a calzone. That took like 10 minutes to make. By the time that he got his calzone, me and Craig had finished our pizza, and we walked out along the pier so that we could enjoy the day and Dad could eat his calzone. Then I decided to perform the Enrique Iglasias move that you just saw on the last page before coming here.
Craig, Dad, and I stood out on the pier, about to go down to the beach to check out the ocean. By that time, I was just about ready to jump off of the pier and straight into the ocean.
The day before (Saturday) it rained like a madman. Representatives from the LA County Fire Department were on hand to make sure no one drowned in the higher than normal incoming tides.
Craig (coffee in hand) took a minute to speak with the lifeguard and asked him why there were warnings on swimming in the ocean. I made sure I wouldn't get arrested for wading in the water, and he assured me that I would not.
So I went in the ocean, cause the lifeguard told me that I could. See, I always listen to authority figures, no matter what they say. I started out just with my feet, and once I realized that no octopuses or seaweed would bring great harm upon me, I ventured a little further into the depths of the great beyond.
Ever heard of that poem The Old Man and the Sea? Neither have I, but I like the sound of it. I decided to do my impression of that poem, playing the part of the Old Man. So there I was, standing in the Pacific Ocean on a grand ol' Sunday afternoon.
