We stopped back at the house so that Mom could get her fill of her grandpets Tucker and Baya. I'm OK with it because you won't see me sitting down with these canines any time soon. Someone has to pay attention to them so that they stop tearing up the house.

The sun was shining, the meal was delicious, the drinks get you drunk, the view was great, the conversations were plentiful and the company was great. I'm really thankful that we had the opportunity to come down here and spend time with these characters. But it also makes me wish that we could do this more often and that we didn't live so very far apart. But this is the World we live in.

We were heading out to this restaurant on the shores of Lake Murray. In order to get there, we needed to drive along this dam. It's difficult to see the enormity of this thing from just one picture, so take my word for it. That's all both of us have.

A couple of years ago I bought James a Brewers flag to fly outside of his house. Since it was March and the 2015 season would begin in a few short days, he was flying it with pride. After the way the 2014 season ended, that's a bold thing to do.

I wonder what it takes to live a life like this. Do I have to give up my first born to Rumpelstiltskin? Do I have to enlist as a Stormtrooper in the First Order? Do I have to work as an indentured servant for a fixed term of years before I get my plot of land? Because I will happily do all of these if that guarantees me a spot here whenever I desire it. But until that happens I suppose I can only enter these grounds as a paying customer.

The Carolinas March 2015 - Lake Murray Dinner

Dinner was good. Standard pub food, but good. It was more about the company and the atmosphere that made this a very nice evening. We just sat outside and talked for a while and I had to figure out a way to excuse myself so that I could go up to the rooftop patio and take a picture of me inside the sun. How do you explain that to someone? You end up sounding like a crazy person.

After dinner (and after enjoying this lovely view) we lined up instead of sitting around a table. Sometimes we like to do that and ask a stranger to freeze that moment in time. Just like this.

Jenny and I text each other all day long through Facebook messenger. One of the best things about it is that you can send stickers of all different types. It's too hard to explain if you have never seen them, but there are many stickers of different characters poking out from behind a wall. Jenny and I call them "creepers". While taking a picture of James and Melissa, Jenny did her best impression of one of these "creepers". I absolutely loved it, but Mom insisted on one of just James and Melissa. Without her. Where's the fun in that?

But it all worked out in the end because we got a "creeper" picture, a "normal" picture and a picture of all 3 of them together. I guess that's why you just keep snapping away.
