I drove the car to the bar and someone else drove the car home. It must have been James because Jenny, Melissa and I were in the back seat. And I know that Mom had more than one cocktail, so she didn't drive home. She's a one and done kind of gal. But the proof that I am still alive to talk about it today means that we got home safe that night. I would be sleeping on the couch here, so I was already in bed when I parked my carcass. That meant that drinking a Cedric's Pale Ale was certainly a good way to end the night.

After we left Tim and Kristy's house we needed something else to do with our night. Luckily in this neck of the woods, there is always a local establishment where you can wet your whistle. I'm talking about a little place called Schooners. This is the finest bar that the Lake Murray area has to offer, which really doesn't say much about Lake Murray. I've been here more times than I care to admit. You've no doubt become as familiar with this joint as I have over the course of my adventures down here. I have regaled tales of this paradise to Mom and Jenny over the past few years and they were finally able to create memories of their own. Isn't that lovely?

On that night, I said it was good to be back. Katie then refered to Schooners as the black hole of life. But that bar gave me a chance to dance with said girl. An actual human girl. And then I dropped some English on her. I said, "Girl - I'm going to open you up like a Thesaurus and give you some synonyms." Then I said "Girl, I'm gonna structure some words, phrases, clauses and sentences with you tonight." Next I said, "Girl - I'm going to tell you a story with a beginning, middle AND an end." And then I said, "I'm gonna keep you on the edge of your seat with some hyperboles + past participles." Do I know how to drop some English on girls or what?

Despite all the things I've said about Schooners in the past, this place does have some cheap drinks, good food and the owners and bartenders are fantastic. It's the kind of local bar you would want to hang out at. Jenny got some tacos and judging by the way she made them disappear like a magician, they were delicious. And even though Mom isn't that big on drinking, she even managed to have a good time. But we could have been just about anywhere. All that Mom cared is that we were all together. She loves that.
