California 2K3 - Day 2 (Page 1)
On Day 2, we went to the mall, which is one of my favorite places in this world to visit. It's on the list right behind the water treatment plant. And if you haven't caught on yet, I'm being sarcastic (which unfortunately doesn't transfer well when it is written.) I really can't complain too much (well, I could, but you don't have the power or authority to stop me. I'm like Godzilla man, and let's face it, you're no Mothra.) because this mall was kinda cool. It's in Irvine, and it's called the Spectrum. It's like that outdoor temple mall that Jesus destroyed in Jesus Christ Superstar. Well, not really, but wouldn't that be fun. Ok, so it is open air (the concourse and kiosks), but the stores themselves are enclosed, so no one steals stuff at night. There was a movie theater, and a food court, and other cool stores, but at the end of the day it was still just a mall. So needless to say, I got bored, and that is how my day began.
This was at some department store, I think Robinson's May, which is exactly like Boston Store. We were waiting for the girls (my Mom Kris, Aunt Cari, Michelle, Kelly, and Jenny) to figure out what we were doing. I was sitting in a chair, and Tim said that I looked small in the chair, like midget-style. That's a big feat for a guy like me. Then I guess Tim looks even smaller.
Here I am being bored in the Vans store while Timmy tries on skater shoes. That couch wasn't bad though. If we had been there longer, I just might've taken a nap. Then Tim, Kris, and Michelle sat on the ledge while we waited for the valet to come back so Tim and I could get up outta there.
Tim and I then took a ride into the mountains simply by following the road past my Uncle's house. And when we did, we were greeted with a spectacular sight - this. We took turns standing before one of nature's joys, then got back into the car to drive some more. Something about twisting and winding roads and the power of a BMW remind me of riding roller coasters, except this was no Great America folks.
If you continue driving down this road, take a left, then take a right, and then take a couple more rights and a left, you'll eventually end up at my Uncle's house. Why did I just tell you that? No reason really. It just illustrates that had we not known our way back "home", we would have stayed up here forever
Tim decided to play chicken with the cars, and sat in the middle of the road. It doesn't look like much, but you couldn't see around the bend, and cars would whip through there at 40 miles per hour. Needless to say, if you didn't see the car coming, there's no way that you would have time to move.
Excuse me for reiterating this, but I almost always do everything that Tim does. But when it came time for me to sit in the road, I cheated and crouched. Good thing that I did too, because not a second after the picture was taken a car flew around the corner, and almost killed me. Had I been sitting, I might not be here to write these very words that you are reading.
The roads are extremely narrow, and you are not supposed to park the car at any time along the side of the road. We did anyway. We got out for a group shot, and noticed all of these bikers riding up the hill. Turns out that there is some kind of bike trail up here, and when the bikers ride down the mountain they are flying at suicidal speeds.
