Brewers vs. Twins in MN 2010 - Game 2 |
Mike is a the epitome of a great father and is my role model should I ever be so lucky as to have children of my own. Look at how he perfectly balances holding his daughter and his beer. Who says that once you have children the party is over? If anything you get better at multitasking which sets you up for drinking while raising kids. And the fact that I'm suggesting that makes it no wonder that I am childless in my picture. No one should ever trust me with the care and well being of another human being, and to this day I haven't come close. And the world is better off because of that. |
I had looked online for tickets prior to coming up here, but on StubHub and EBay they were more expensive than I hoped to pay. We never had to worry about the Brewers vs. Twins series selling out at the Metrodome, but Target Field is a real baseball stadium that doesn't suck, so we had to wait. They had standing room only tickets, but they were only selling those in limited amounts because of capacity issues. So while we waited for Katie to join us, I stood outside the gate like poor ass Charlie Bucket wishing he could go inside Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. |
Last year when I was up here we drove past Target Field to check it out, but the stadium was not finished. So while Katie parked the car Mike, Reese and I walked around to check out the outside. We had plenty of time to do that too because parking was scarce and the game was sold out. But we still tried for tickets to check out the inside. |
Blackduck is about 4 hours North of Minneapolis, so we had to get an early start to make it to the 6pm game. We still had enough time to stop for lunch, and like the true weirdo I am, I wore my sombrero at Dairy Queen. I got some looks like the employees and other customers, but people look at me weird even if I don't wear the sombrero. |
I didn't mind standing because I usually stand in the left field bleachers at Miller Park so no one yells at me to sit down or remove my sombrero. At Target Field the biggest standing room area was in the right field bleachers, which is where we ran into beloved Brewers mascot Bernie Brewer, who was more than pleased to be in a picture. |
Katie finally joined us and they released some more standing room only tickets. It sucked because they were like $25 a piece and as described, we would have to stand for the entire game, but at least we would be inside to watch the game. At least we didn't travel 4 hours for nothing. At least we would be inside for this melee of a game. |
