Brewers vs. Twins in MN 2010 - Blackduck |
The reason that I will never be responsible for raising another human life is that I have a hard enough time raising myself properly. When I look at this innocent toy that helps children learn shapes, I see Elmo banging the mailbox from behind. And not only that, but they're both really enjoying it. That's so gay. Is this toy messed up or is it just me? |
Kids are fascinating. I'd like to have one someday if I can mature enough to raise one, have enough money to afford one and find a woman to make one with. Until then I'll just play "Uncle" to my friend's children and let them do the parenting. After all, they seem to be better at it then I could ever be. At least that's how Mike is. |
Joseph hung out with me all morning and was getting to be a little annoying. He was a cool kid and everything, but you could tell he was starved of attention. He talked nonstop, and a lot of it was unrepeatable, even for this site. He's at that age when you just learn swear words and about girls and their anatomy. Let's just say that if his Grandma was around, she would've washed his mouth with soap. |
Reese was wading in the water and some little fishes were swimming up to her. She must not have posed a threat to them, because they didn't mind her being there at all. And then she started splashing around and getting all out of control as children normally do and they scattered. See? I'm not the only one who can't handle the energy level of a 2 year old. So the fish and I have something else in common besides being very fond of swimming. Although some of them may not like it but do it out of necessity. I don't think they make the Hoverround or Rascal water equivalent for fish that don't feel like using their body parts for motion and instead rely on a motorized cart to do it for them. Or at least there isn't one yet. |
On Wednesday I called Mike to let him know that my flight was on schedule and when he should be there to pick me up. He didn't answer because he was out on the lake fishing with some buddies. Everything worked out though because for lunch today Mike cooked up some of the fish he caught. And I'll be damned if it wasn't the most delicious fish I ever had in my life. Sometimes the fresh stuff is just better. |
It must be nice to have some of the 10,000 lakes right in your back yard because you could go swimming any time you want. Now I love going swimming, but Lake Michigan is nowhere near as appealing as this backwoods lake that Mike took us to. This lake doesn't smell. |
Joseph wanted to come with us to the lake, but we only had one car seat. Ok, so he's not that young but we just didn't want him to tag along anymore. So Reese was alone in the back seat and quietly ate string cheese while Mike and I goofed around in the front of the car. |
I meant to take a self timed picture of the 3 of us in the water, but I didn't realize that I had zoomed all the way in. So it just took a picture of Mike. It turned out to be a pretty good picture compared to the blurry group shot on the right. I know that kids can't sit still long enough for a picture, but that doesn't explain why Mike and I are blurry too. Oh well. You can't expect a top of the line camera to take good pictures, right? |
