The Brewers vs. Twins series in Minnesota took place on the final weekend of June, which is also the opening weekend of Summerfest. The 10 days of Summerfest are easily the most busy and crazy days in Milwaukee, and that week and 1/2 always flies by at such a great blur that I always forget what happened. These pictures below are from July 3rd at the Lakefront for the fireworks, and I decided to include them here because they show how worn out and tired I was during this stretch of the summer. Although I'm tired, I had a damn good time getting tired.

We finally found the freeway, but there was a small problem - there was a small fence and no freeway entrance. If Bates had a bigger truck we would have rammed it, but we just turned around and went back looking for the entrance, which we eventually found.

It sure was interesting driving along Mike's secret shortcut, that much I know I can say. In true Mike Bates fashion two things happened - this short cut actually ended up taking longer than the established route, and the journey was a whole lot more interesting and enjoying than the destination. Everyone needs to find their own Mike Bates in life to make sure their life adventures always remain random and entertaining.

This biker really got quite a scare when he saw this beast of a truck barreling down the dirt track towards him. It's a good thing that we were a bigger vehicle, because all we got from him was a mean stare. If he gave us more than that, Mike and I would taken him down.
