Brewers vs. Reds in Cincinnati 2010 - Game 3 |
The players were hootin' and hollerin' in the dugout and basically ignoring our pleas for attention. I don't blame them though, it's not like we were a couple of kids who are the future of Major League Baseball. We were two grown ass men wearing sombreros. |
We were down on the field level next to the Brewers dugout trying to get more autographs on our sombreros. We saw Telly Hughes and tried to get his attention for two reasons - to get interviewed on TV and to ask him why he wore a shirt when he was at Noah's Ark. |
Screw you Cincinnati. You know what you can do when you put in Hemmerling for Mitchell? You can go back to Cincinnati! The game today was a real bummer as the Reds took a 3-2 lead in the 4th and never looked back. And the Brewers lost the last game of the year. |
I don't like to play to an audience. I'm cool if people think that I'm funny and laugh, but I'm not putting on a show. This is me. So I don't appreciate it when I get approached and people want to take a picture because they think the sombrero is funny. It's not meant for humor, it's really an extension of who we are. Take our picture, but do it for real reasons. Don't do it to put it on your bullshit website. |
Since we had already checked out of the hotel we drove into town from Kentucky and found a place to park for like $10. I wouldn't be having any of that $27 bullshit again, that's for sure. The Brewers finished with a disappointing 77-85 record. Oh well, there's always next year. |
The game was a little under 3 hours long so we were able to head out of town around 4pm. A 9 hour car ride would still put us home after midnight with both of us having to work the next morning. Once again, as you can see from the picture on the right, I drove the entire way home while Kevin slept the whole time. As far as I can remember (because I was obviously too busy driving to concentrate on anything) it was a pretty uneventful drive home. I wish I could say the same about the weekend. While I was away I got word that my car had been towed and that we had to put down our 16 year old dog Lassie, both of which happened on Friday. I tried my best to enjoy this weekend, but at the time it was one of the worst of my entire life. And that (among other things) is why it took me over a year (this trip was in the 1st weekend of October in 2010 and today is October 15, 2011) to bring myself to post these pictures and do the write up. It just wasn't a very good roadtrip for many reasons. |
