Brewers vs. Nationals in Washington D.C. - Game 2 |
I didn't bring along nearly enough rum to last the entire trip. In fact, when I'm around there is no such thing as enough rum. We drove around to several stores in Virginia that supposedly sold alcohol, but it turns out that they just had beer and wine. I don't know if we went to the wrong stores or if they just don't sell liquor in Virginia, but we had to cross the river into Maryland to get some booze. And we picked up a 1.75 of Maryland's finest - Port Royal Rum. Despite being named after the famous shipping and trading port of the 17th century that lured Pirates and English sailors to the Caribbean, this rum is made in Maryland. It doesn't make sense. Just like the San Juan rum I drink that is made in Minneapolis. |
We once again purchased Upper Deck tickets and sat out in the left field bleachers in Jackie's section. I was all liquored up because I drank at the hotel, on the train and inside the ballpark. I was all riled up and ready to cheer, but the Brewers didn't give us anything to cheer for. In one of the most pathetic performances of the year, the Brewers were shutout and held to only 4 hits by the immortal Livan Hernandez. I'm lucky that I was hitting the sauce pretty hard or else I would have been extremely upset instead of just mildly upset. Even though the Brewers had a very little chance of coming back from an 8-0 deficit, we tried to help them do it in the 9th inning by wearing our rally sombreros. |
We did a couple of shots of Shrek's Piss then filled up our road beverages. Normally I don't condone drinking while inside of a moving vehicle, but I think it is ok to drink inside of a train. Legally it's probably not, but Kevin and I are above the law. Or maybe that's just the way that I feel once I get that good ol' liquid courage in me. I feel like I could take on the world. So look out Washington D.C. Here I come again! |
Everything about the train was 60's/70's retro. In the 80's and 90's this decor probably would have been totally bogus or most def not the bomb. But retro is chic again these days and this train served its purpose well, and looked good while doing it. In fact I would almost go so far to say that I really enjoyed the time that I spent riding this wonder of semi-modern transportation. It did more than get us from point A to point B. |
