Brewers vs Giants in San Francisco

My Uncle Gary is a really cool guy. He's one of those people that got older but never really grew up, but in a good way. Basically he's a 25 year old in a 50 year old's body. He has the fun of a kid with the salary and resources of middle-aged guy. Basically he's living the dream, which is all I hope to be doing when I am his age.

When I was out in center field, I got a lot of trash talked to me by the Giants fans because I was wearing enemy colors. I considered wearing my Prince Fielder All Star jersey from 2006, since it was black and orange, but I knew that I would be pussing out if I tried to blend in with the crowd. I had no choice but to wear my bright blue sleeveless retro shirt, for it allows me to show of my true colors. It's worth getting harassed if I know in my heart that I represented my team even in the harshest of environments. I'll sleep well tonight knowing I didn't let my team down.

We started chatting with these guys in front of us, and they turned out to be really hyped. Every time someone would get up, they would yell out "down in front!" They even yelled at a Grandma!! That was the hypest thing of all. Who the hell yells at Grandmas? It's not their fault that they are old and do silly old-timer things.

The Giants sent reigning Cy Young Award Winner Tim Lincecum to the mound, and the Brewers responded with Jeff Suppan? Why the hell wasn't Yovanni Gallardo on the mound today? Manager Ken Macha said that he didn't want to match up his Ace with the other team's Ace and "waste" Gallardo's starts. To me that shows no confidence in his offense to put up numbers against a #1 pitcher. And if there is anything we needed after losing Ben Sheets and CC Sabathia, it was confidence in our young pitchers Gallardo and Manny Parra. But instead the veteran Suppan was taking the hill, so it would be vital for the Brewers to score at least 5 runs if they wanted to get a victory today.

Although AT&T Park lies on the San Francisco Bay, there is actually a nice little cove right outside the right field walls that the Giants have named after long time (19 years!) Giants great and Hall of Famer Willie McCovey. McCovey's Cove is what they call this area, and left handed sluggers (like former Giant Barry Bonds) had no trouble dumping homeruns right into the cold waters. On this chilly (for San Francisco at least, I was enjoying this 60 degree weather) day, there were only a handful of kayakers and boats in the water waiting to grab a floating homerun ball. Come summer, this place would be shoulder to shoulder with people hoping to take home a water logged souvenir.

Tim Lincecum was nowhere near his previous Cy Young form, so today was a really good day to beat this normally great pitcher. He only lasted 3 innings and was out of control, walking 3, uncorking a wild pitch and allowing 3 runs. The Brewers offense seemed to be clicking, as they scored 5 runs in the first 4 innings. But Jeff Suppan was even worse than Lincecum, as he allowed the Giants to score 6 runs in his 4 innings of work. Since the game was getting out of hand, we decided to walk around and check out the ballpark. We stood at the Levi's Landing area and were mere footsteps from McCovey's Cove when we found these other Brewers fans. It was nice to see some friendly faces, and even though we didn't stay long, all of these people whose names I can't remember are now my best friends forever.
