Arizona Spring Break - Day 3

For each game, I specifically chose our seat location based upon where I felt was the best place to sit on that given day. For the first game, I got the row closest to the field, which happened to be in the right field corner. Yesterday, I wanted to sit behind the Brewers dugout. And today, I wanted to sit behind home plate to get the best straight-on view of the action. The only problem with our seats was the fact that they were in the shade for the entire game. Although I had already spent a considerable time in the sun, I wanted more before I went back home to the dark and dreary Wisconsin winter. My Dad felt like absolute shit, so he welcomed the shade. This has been a rough weekend for him.

I woke up a little early this morning to take full advantage of the weather. The sun was out, the temperature was high, and I took full advantage of the opportunity by lounging in the pool with a beer. My Dad was still sick in bed, so I had plenty of time to relax and enjoy the weather, and hopefully add a little more color to my skin. There's nothing I love more than chilling in a body of water while drinking an adult alcoholic beverage. I usually only get to do it at Afterglow in July, so today was a real treat for me. This is the greatest day of my life.

We had intended to get an early start today, but my Dad needed more time to rest up. I really did feel bad for the guy, because he was running quite a fever. He was coughing nonstop, and I was worried we would have to go see a doctor. But he took some Dayquil and manned up, and soon we would be watching baseball.

My favorite thing about heading out to the West Coast is going to In-N-Out Burger. I almost wish that they would build one here (like the recent addition of Sonic to Milwaukee) but then it wouldn't be special anymore. Half of the reason that In-N-Out is so good is the fact that I can only get it once or twice a year.

In January of 2008, I found out about the secret menu at In-N-Out Burger, and my life hasn't been the same since. Depending on how hungry I am, I may or may not go for the 3x3 burger, but I always go for the Animal Fries. These fries come with cheese sauce, onions and the special sauce (thousand island dressing). Toss on a little ketchup and these are the greatest fries in the whole world.

Today's game was a Spring Training rivalry between the Brewers and the Cubs, and the parking lots were once again full. So we parked in a nearby church lot, and this Nun was collecting the money and Nun-in' it up in full gear. They said the money was going to go to charity or something, so I had no problem forking over $5 dollars to help starving children and hobos.
