Arizona Spring Break - St. Patty's Day |
All good things must come to an end, and I would have to face the harsh reality of going to work in the morning. As much as I hate working (not just my job, but work in general) without it I would not be able to go on all of these crazy adventures. Sure, my Dad paid for most everything on this trip, but with paid vacation I ended up still getting a full week's worth of pay despite missing 2 days. So that's what gets me through the long and wretched work day - the promise that this money I'm earning will be put towards good use in one of my future adventures around the USA. So that wraps up the Arizona Spring Break. I had a blast at Spring Training, and I without a doubt will be back down in Phoenix next year getting hyped up for the 2010 Milwaukee Brewers season. I Hope that you will be able to join me, either in flesh or in spirit. Start thinking about it now - I promise you won't regret your decision. Have a nice day, and as always - Go Brewers! |
I got back from Chicago with just enough time before midnight to have a drink with my brother James at Paddy's Pub on Murray St. on the EastSide. Neither of us were concerned that we had to work early tomorrow morning, because we can't let a silly thing like that get in the way of our St. Patrick's Day. It was unseasonably warm out, and even around midnight it was still in the 70's (and this is March in Wisconsin mind you). The weather here is the goofiest thing ever - I've never seen anywhere else North of the Equator that can have 70 degree weather in March and 50 degree weather in June. Simply stunning. So even though I was back home from my Spring Break adventure, I was still in good spirits because of the day (St. Patrick's), weather (70's) and company (my big brother). This night couldn't have been any better. |
Dave (left) and Joey Kanz (right) work at Vitucci's Uno, but for some reason they were off of work on one of the biggest drinking days of the year. They must have worked the early shift (some bars in Wisconsin open as early as 6 AM on St. Patrick's Day so that people can get their drink on) and were now out celebrating. I convinced them to leave that gay bar and see what a real (that serves beer on tap) bar is like. We chilled outside, and it was one the finest days that I ever spent at Paddy's. Nothing like a fine Irish beer to send the night off into the memory books. And since I had some fantastic drinking buddies, my Milwaukee portion of St. Patrick's day turned out to be a good one. |
