Brewers Spring Training 2014 - Day 7 |
I don't know if Korben Dallas cared if I was back home. He's a cat, so he can't use words like you and I can. I came back home on a Wednesday morning when I would usually be at work, so maybe he was just glad someone was around to feed him during business hours. After I gave him a dish full of food, he filled his belly and took a nap in my chair. Thanks for the love pal. Always appreciated. |
I forgot to mention that there were a lot of pretty girls in Lake Havasu walking around in minimal clothing. It is a popular Spring Break destination and I was getting a spring boner. OK, so that was a little gross. But I like sexy women with hot totties. Can you blame me? But I also like nature and the natural beauty that the Earth radiates, especially when the sun says its' last goodbye until the new day. It was during this moment that I really felt at peace with my World and felt relaxed. I said it best on my Twitter account while taking in these images, "Right now in this moment in time everything is perfect. I want to remember that for the times when when I need it." I could not have said it better. Life is hard. I get that. But every now and then none of that bullshit matters and you find serenity. |
I was feeling rather lonely on this night time drive through the desert. But then then I had a "holy shit! Is that the moon?" moment. Man that thing is huge. That's what she said. With that big guy out there watching over me, I was no longer all by myself. When it got dark there wasn't much to do or look at anymore, so I just listened to some music and kept driving on. When I noticed that the speed limit was 75, I decided to see if these bastards could do 90. When my car hit 88 miles per hour, I saw some serious shit while singing the Back to the Future theme song. Things get weird during road trips, especially when you are riding solo. I made it to the Phoenix airport in one piece. And just like that, my Brewers Spring Training trip was over. |
I flew through the night and I'm pretty sure that I slept the entire time, because when I realized what was going on, I was in Detroit. As soon as I figured that out, I couldn't wait to get the hell out of here. Luckily my layover wasn't that long and I touched ground in Milwaukee before I was fully awake for the day. I love my hometown but I was a little sad to be back. Winter is a cruel bitch. But I chose to live here. That's my fault. |
I left my cat Korben Dallas in the care of my Mother, so she was at my house several times while I was gone. When I got home I found this gift in my fridge. A few days ago I was talking about pancake wrapped sausages from Market Day at my grade school and she remembered and bought me some. My Mom is the best. |
Milwaukee is actually a pretty sweet town. I got a good look at it while riding the bus back to Jenny's house to get my car. If Winter didn't exist this might be the greatest city on Earth. We all know that Winter does exist, so it was hard being back. But this is my home. Nobody talks shit about my town. Nobody!! |
I was definitely thinking ahead when I took off of work the day I got back home. I got into town around 8am and could have easily worked 4-6 hours today. But why work when you have the freedom to take a day off? Who wants to work anyway? I didn't want to do anything today, let alone subject myself to the prison of my office cubicle. So instead I filmed the last video for my blog's "25 Brewers in 25 Days" which focused on the Starting Rotation. I filmed this video outside of Miller Park, which would be hosting the start of the 2014 season in a few weeks. At that time I was full of optimism even though they had a lackluster Spring Training. I had no idea that they would collapse like they did in September, so I was all in. That's what Spring does to you. It brings life. It brings hope. It makes you feel fresh and new. Makes you forget about the cold dark Winter. This Spring was magical thanks to this trip. I wish every one could be like this. But they aren't, which is what made this one so special. This was a wild ride. I hope to do it again someday... |
