Brewers Spring Training 2014 - Day 7

I had to be out of my room by around 11am and out of town shortly thereafter (I had to back in Phoenix for an 11:35pm flight) but I still had plenty of time to hang out before checking out. The pool was supposed to open at 9am, and I was outside the door right on the hour... but it was locked. This totally pissed me off but then I started drinking. And then it was open and I was topless and nothing else seemed to matter.

When I was out here in 2008 for the CineVegas Film Festival (for the premiere of the Last Cup Beer Pong documentary), they asked who would play me in a movie version of this. I said Louie Anderson (because Chris Farley and John Candy were deceased). This was before I knew Jonah Hill. So I was surprised to see the cartoon version of kid Louie Anderson (from Life with Louie) hanging from my doorknob. I was either hungover or half naked when I was in my room, so aside from when I was taking this picture, I left the "Donut Disturb" on the outside of the door. I guess Louie was the main entertainer here but he didn't give me free tickets to his show. Louie Anderson is an asshole. Screw that guy.

I have already talked about how much I loved the drive up here from Phoenix. Even though I wasn't terribly excited to go back home, I was still looking forward to the drive back through the desert. I left Nevada and soon I was driving into California. I had so idea that I would be back in the Golden State so soon. But the best adventures are the ones that are unexpected. And so I drive.

But before I really drove out of town I stopped to see my friend Billy Gaines. You might know him better as one of the guys who started the World Series of Beer Pong. He's been living out here for a few years now. Even though I haven't played in the WSoBP since Year 7, I still figured out a way to get out here last year and this year to see my pal Billy. Even though he had a lot of work to do (he was running a company after all) he still took about an hour to hang out and talk to me. We talked about old times and he gave me a peak behind the curtain of what has really been going on with this beer pong event. It was interesting to say the least, especially because I have a different perspective now that I'm out of the game. But the time had come for me to leave, so I said my goodbyes. I didn't get a picture with Billy (although I got one with his house) because I still feel weird asking people to be a part of my adventure. I have problems man.

Before heading out of town I had to do one more thing - film my last 25 Brewers in 25 Days video out here. Even though this was the last, I used this one as my first as I wandered around town talking about my overall predictions for the 2014 season. Afterwards I grabbed a couple cheap hotdogs and made the walk back to the Plaza. And just like that, it was time for me to leave Las Vegas and end this adventure. Thank God.
